Happielifting in Leeds

Grab your Kettlebell let's gan to Leeds!

Happielifts is off to Yorkshire!
It will come as no surprise to some but yes I'm off to Leeds and taking my business Happielifts with me!

It's a whole new chapter for me and my other half! I would like to thank all of those that I have met here in Newcastle that have made life here pretty darn sweet! I met some of the nicest colleagues ever working in a cafe in Jesmond (you know who you are!) and some of the greatest coaches, fitness professionals and mentors in the fitness industry. I'm going to miss you all and my clients! My goodness I have enjoyed coaching you so much, I wish you all the best, keep up the good fight and it has been an absolute pleasure to be a part of your journey.

I would like to extend thanks to LittleJonBoyle for giving me the opportunity to shadow his immense coaching in weightlifting club and then to go on to co-coach in the club myself! It was a dream so thank you so much for teaching me and allowing me to gain hands on experience - I respect you so much as a coach!

Kezz (coached by Kezz) I will miss you an awful lot! You weren't just my colleague, you were and are my friend. Thank you for inviting me to co-coach Bars before Bros (Female barbell club) and Girls Got Grit (Strongwoman Club)! I will never forget the memories we made in these clubs and it was incredible creating a safe space for lasses to come train without judgement! Kezz deserves some sort of medal for putting up with all that she did founding these clubs! Absolute hero! Superwoman!

Phil (Dork fit) you have a heart of gold and it was a pleasure working with you too! I really will miss both Kezz and yourself loads!
Go check out Dork_fit videos (anyone who is reading this... that is if anyone actually is reading this hah). Go now!

A huge thank to Wolfslair fitness for taking me on as an Olympic weightlifting coach for their members. I learnt a lot about Crossfit here and I have been enjoying my last few WODs in Newcastle at Wolfslair Fitness! I should have started sooner honestly such a welcoming place, so friendly and not overcrowded during these strange times. I'm trying to avoid saying covid here! Come on!
Seriously though thank you you've all been a part of my journey as a PT and coach. Everyone I meet and learn from makes me a more rounded and able coach.

A special one now as first step went on to take many more steps! Going on to do some pretty amazing things!
It was an absolute delight working here! A facility that focused on the mental health and wellbeing of It's staff and members.
Gamechanger! Davey hoops (beyond inspired) and Rob have gone on to create the Legacy Partnership helping men release their inner wolf (yes I'm obsessed with anything wolf related ok! and it shows!). Check out their movement hashtag become the wolf!
Again It's about mental health, wellbeing, men's mental health in particular which is important, business coaching and life coaching.

Thanks for having me on board at the beginning of your journey though. I learnt a lot watching you build The Legacy and hearing you talk so openly and freely about mental health really helped me feel able to talk freely too! First step was a lovely place to coach clients too, it was a safe space for anyone who was hesitant about taking their first steps into "fitness and strength".

I have met many more coaches and mentors that have helped me as an athlete and a coach! It's hard to fit everybody into one blog post I feel like you should all have your own one now hehe. Coaches that have without a doubt helped me as a coach/athlete are Julia Mills (strong(wo)man), Donna Moore, Jenny Todd (if you don't know these incredible women look them the heck up!), Michael Breeze (olympic weightlifting coach/gold medalist), Elite Strongman promotions ( the OG gang I miss you so much!!) and the gang at Unique Fitness in Howden! Strength Coach Steve Sharp owner of Unique Fitness - Awesome coach! If I wasn't moving cities I would still be going along to Unique like and training with North Tyneside Barebells under Steve's watchful eye. I have a lot of respect for Steve!

Rewind to where it all started and I began my apprenticeship! The Fitness Rooms! Thank you for the opportunity and the memories! It has been fascinating to watch Crossfit Death or Glory come out of TFR. Fantastic facility and now CF DOG has grown into a pretty special box! Congratulations and I will continue to watch you go strength to strength! Mick over at TFR is a great sports massage therapist and I really am going to miss you. You gave me the best advice, always sorted me out when I had a niggle or injury and I am pretty sad knowing I can't just book in to see you! I was going to do my sports massage qualification this year you see and Mick was going to take me under his wing. Darn you Corornavirus! Thank you so much for believing in me Mick and everybody else at The Fitness Rooms!

Off I go onto my brand new chapter in Yorkshire though armed with all of the knowledge I have picked up in Newcastle.

Strength is the best accessory so grab your weapon (mines a kettlebell) and let's get going in Leeds!
