Enjoy the festive period

Christmas decors

I don't believe in attaching negative labels to food, so I will never ever make a food (a source of fuel) off limits.

πŸ™…πŸΎβ€β™€

I also find that by including all foods in your intake, you are a lot less likely to get overly excited by more decadent food later ☺ I stay in my lane, too.

.

I am not a nutritionist, I decided to specialise in weightlifting & the performance side of things. So, if someone was struggling with something as complicated as binge eating, I would refer them to someone I trust. A qualified professional.

.

It's my job to stay neutral when it comes to food with my clients. I shouldn't make their relationship with food worse by demonising anything. I should never ever πŸ™…πŸΎβ€β™€ punish anyone, including myself, for enjoying food or going out to have a good time with some drinks.

So, how are my clients making progress whilst going out to Christmas markets, attending work Christmas meals & going out for early Christmas parties? πŸ₯³

πŸŽ‰

It's about mindset 🧠✨ Not restricting before going to a market or meal. All that will happen if you restrict is that you will go to your event overly hungry & much more likely to over eat. Then you feel like you have 'failed' because even though you tried to "have control," you lost it when surrounded by so much choice.

.

I say this from experience as I have been there & done that. Restricting yourself is not a kind thing to do to your body. How would you feel if your best friend was doing that? You'd tell them to be nicer to themselves, right? At Happielifters, we are all about trying to give ourselves grace & be softer with ourselves. We want to create an environment where we can flourish & that is one which is a safe space. A supportive, kind environment without judgement where you can learn, make mistakes, grow from that experience and build upon it. Moving upwards and onwards.
That sounds a lot nicer than an environment which isn't pleasant to be in right?
We have control of our life to the extent of how we view things, how we treat ourselves, our self talk and how we treat others.

So let's reframe it πŸ–€βœ¨

We find a deeper why just like we do for the fitness journey. Why won't we restrict, why will be nourish ourselves whilst balancing this more festive food?
We try to be softer with ourselves if kindness is still out of reach because nothing grows easily in harsh hostile conditions, right? But if we nurture ourselves, we will progress a lot further with longer lasting results.

🫢🏾

It's true! It's been proven that you're more likely to stick at something of you enjoy it compared to if you are punishing yourself. You have to meet your needs at the end of the day πŸ™πŸ½βœ¨

If you are not meeting your most basic needs to be happy as a human being then how will you thrive? We aim to meet all the basic needs and more so you can flourish!

Your happiness is important & key πŸ”‘ to making all of this work 😁✨

So enjoy the festive period with balance and if you have any questions on how to balance things or if you are struggling feel free to drop me an email or message.

Off I go to get ready for an early Christmas celebration myself! So laters!
